William enlisted in the U.S. Army in February 1942. He served as Army Medical Corpsman in the Pacific Theatre from 1942 to 1945 and was discharged in January 1946.

"Mary Annie Jenkins, 3002 Brandon, age 74, died Wednesday, August 5, 1970, at Kith Haven Convalescent Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Mt. Vernon Chapel, Brown Funeral Home, Rev. Lewis C.Sutton officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery (Flint).

"Mrs.Jenkins was born November 27, 1895, and had been a resident of Flint the last 26 years. She was a member of Central Methodist Church and Flint City Rebecca Lodge No. 509.
"Surviving are: 3 sons, Richard, William and Robert all of Flint; 2 daughters, Mrs. Eino (Myrtle) Maki of Iron River and Mrs. John (Mary) Perkin of Flint; 23 grandchildren; 12great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Clara Rich of Marquette and Mrs.William (Mae) Aho of Ishpeming, MI; brother, Walter Lampshire of Ishpeming."

"Thomas Lampshire"Thomas Lampshire, pioneer Ishpeming resident, died Tuesday evening (April 10, 1923) at 8 o'clock at his home, 141 W. Terrace Street following an illness of several weeks duration. The deceased was one of the city's veteran miners and for many years worked at the Lake Angeline property.
"He was a resident of Marquette County for 43 years, a majority of the time spent in Ishpeming. Mr. Lampshire was born in Chestwater, Cornwall, England in 1850. He came to the U.S. in 1873 locating in Pennsylvania from where he moved to the Copper Country. He came to Ishpeming in 1880.
"Besides his widow, the deceased is survived by 10 children. Theyare Walter of Marquette, Richard, George, Thomas, James, Mrs. John Knight, Mrs. William Aho, Mrs. Samuel Rich, Mrs. Arthur Jenkins, and Mrs. Earl Ellersick of Palmer. He also leaves 22 grandchildren, one brother Walter Lampshire who lives in Colorado and four sisters, three who live in England, one (Emma) in Australia.
"The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon from the Salisbury Methodist Episcopal Church, with services conducted by the Rev. H. J.Maplebeck, the pastor."
According to some family members, Thomas came to the U.S. in 1875.
Mrs. Mary A. Lampshire, age 74, died in the home of her daughter, Mrs.Samuel Rich, 1121 North Front Street, shortly after noon Sunday. She had been in poor health for 10 years.
She was born in Elston, Cornwall, England and came to Michigan with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Blee who settled in Negaunee and later moved to Ishpeming where Mrs. Lampshire resided for 63 years. Her husband Thomas Lampshire died in Ishpeming 18 years ago. Six years ago Mrs. Lampshire came to Marquette to reside with her daughter.
She was a member of the Methodist Church of Ishpeming and leaves 5 daughters and two sons. They are Walter of Marquette, James of Ishpeming, Mrs. Samuel Rich of Marquette, Mrs. John Knight and Mrs. William Aho of Ishpeming, Mrs. Arthur Jenkins of Iron River, and Mrs.Norman Ellersick of Marquette. There are four sisters, Mrs. Bessie Neely, Mrs. Bella Johnson of Negaunee, Mrs. Lila Olds of Hibbing, Minn.,Mrs. Sarah Lampson of Flint and a brother James Blee.
