No children resulted from his marriage to Lavinia Argall.
In the 1841 census, Lavinia is recorded as aged 12 living in Redruth, Cornwall. (HO107/143/14, Folio 55, page 53). Living next door were Walter & Susannah Orwell and family; Susanna was the aunt of her future first husband - William George Argall).
Lavinia emigrated to Australia in 1857 with her husband and husband's cousin Walter Orwell, aged 22, a miner, aboard the "Morning Star". The Port of Embarkation was Bristol and the Port of Arrival was Melbourne on 6 September 1857.
In the 1841 census, John is recorded as aged 50 (rounded) living in Redruth, Cornwall. (HO107/143/14, Folio 55, page 53).
They had a number of children baptised under the surname Crowl and some under the name Crowe. Lavinia is not amongst them.
At Elizabeth's marriage to John Crowl, the witnesses were James Champion and Edward Lemin.
