Harriett Elizabeth "Hallie Beth" SCALES
Hallie Beth & Wilber moved to several Texas communities in their public school
careers. Wilber taught school in Gorman when he married; they moved to Glen
Rose & Walnut Springs when Wilber was selected to become the Walnut Springs
School Superintendent. Hallie taught music in the schools around here.
Both were active in the Walnut Springs Methodist Church; Wilber taught
Sunday School & Hallie was the regular song director & at time accompanied on
the piano & organ. Hallie is able to play both by music & by ear. While here
they were both active in the OES & Wilber in the Mosonic Lodge. In 1957 they
moved to the Metroplex. Hallie was a school librarian when she retired.
After retirement, the couple returned to live once more in Gorman & then
in Glen Rose.
