A story is told on "Will Gull", of how he was once accused of stealing some hogs. "Will Gull" took a shot at the man who accused him of it and the "bullet hit the man's belt buckle and ranged down into his privates and an old Dr. dug around in his hip till he about bled to death. So George Tipton told him, "Will if that man dies they will hang you for murder." And "Will Gull" said, I would rather be hung for killing a ball-face liar than be branded a thief. But luckly they took the man to Knoxville where they operated and took the bullet out and he lived.
