David WILSON

Wilson Cemetery is on land owned by David Wilson orginally in 1980s it was owned by Hunar Markeland, 18128 SE Grasie Rd., Oregon City, oR 97045; David and his second wife and children came to Oregon via Oregon Trail in 1852

David Wilson declared his intention to become a US citizen on 5 JUly 1843 in circuit court, Van Burien Co., Mo. cert. #2385 and it was awarded on 29 Jan. 1848; He landed at the falls of Niagara in the fall of 1831 "to the best of his recollection" and resided in the US since then. OR donation land claim was #3060; Oregon Donation Land Claims Vol. 2; 1850 census listed his occupation as a blacksmith; 1860 census showed Malinda and John  living with him; 1870 census John, Jemima and June lived with him; Margaret was living with a Baker family in Hardings to attend school; Information compiled by Ethel Gould of Carnation Wa.

1910 Umatilla Co. Cenus had Benjamin Morton and family living at 512 E. Railroad St., Pendleton;  Coincidentally (?, per Wes Morton) in 1920 his grandfather james and his wife and children rented the same house;
