Annastacia Clawson, Little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Clawson of Lake City, died at 3 o'clock AM, Sunday, August 30, 1914, after a sickness of several weeks. Every attention was given the little one in its sickness but all that medical skill could do, and all the care and devotion that the fond parents and friends could bestow could not conquer the disease.
The funeral was held on Monday and the precious little form was laid away in the Lake City Cemetery, amidst impressive rites and may sympathizing friends.
Little Annastacia was born May 23, 1913 and died August 30, 1914 aged one year, three months and twenty three days. She was the first born in the household and a constant joy and comfort to the loving parents. The human mind cannot fathom the mystery which surrounds the seemingly cruel decree of Fate which plucks the Sweet flower out of the garden in the morning of it's fragrance, and the longer we ponder the more deeper we become mystified. But a noted writer has said the Great Judge does not always call His loved ones at eventide, but gathers in the choicest of His creatures before the sis of the world to which all mankind is heir, are visited upon them. And we often wonder when the pure and innocent little ones are beckoned hence , if the solution is to be found in the fact that there is a special place for them in Eternal Glory, not fit for those who have been defiled by the sins of the world.
To the sorrowing parents and grandparents, The Index extends profound sympathy, and trusts that while words of consolation cannot replace their loss, the knowledge of having so many fir rends may, in a measure, bring a healing balm to their troubled hearts.
