Ira Martin Scott
Ira Martin Scott, son of Ira G. and Mary Scott was born near Old Madeline, Daviess County, MO, June 28, 1865 and passed away at the Cox Nursing Home in Gallatin, November 6, 1960 at the age of 95 years, four months, and 28 days.
He was united in marriage to Irena Mae Huddleston September 3, 1889, who preceded him in death April 28, 1935. To this union were born nine children: four sons and five daughters. One son died in infancy and one son James Floyd passed away July 23, 1960.
Left to mourn his passing are two sons: Dave of near Jamesport and John Lewis of Kansas City, and five daughters: Ethel Landes and Gertie Stretch of Jameson, Myrtle Richards of Gallatin, Mollie Truitt and Edna Perry of Kansas City; two grandsons, six granddaughters; 15 great grandchildren and 10 great, great grandchildren.
"Uncle Bully" as he was known to his many friends and relatives will be sadly missed for his love and words of cheer.Obit:
Ira M. Scott Dies at Age 95
GALLATIN, Mo. (Special) - Ira Martin Scott, 95, died Sunday morning at a Gallatin nursing home.
He is survived by two sons Dave Scott, Jamesport, Mo., and Lew Scott, Kansas City, Mo., and five daughters, Mrs. Roy Stretch and Mrs. Lewis Landis, both of Jameson, Mo., Mrs. Sam Truitt and Mrs. Dee Perry, both of Kansas City, and Mrs. Ray Richards, Gallatin.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Hope chapel here, with Jerry Reece officiating, Burial will be in Scotland Cemetery, near Jameson.
See HH Book, volume I, page 44. Nancy, married Hugh McIver. Moved to Greenbrier River and had 4 children. Indians killed Hugh, captured Nancy, for years, she escaped but hte chidlren remained with the Indians always.
