Amanda was a member of the First Christian Church of Beatrice, NE. She was a member of the Fairbury Rebekah Lodge, also.Amanda's Death Rec. lists the place of death as the University Hospital in Omaha, Douglas Co., NE. It states that her length of stay was 104 days. It, also , states that her date of birth was Mar. 10, 1869. Ziegenhain's think that 1868 is more likely.
Amanda and her 2nd husband, Henry Kratz, had no children. After her husband, Henry Kratz, passed away, Amanda became a housekeeper for her brother, Milton, in her later years. Usual residence was Jansen, Jefferson Co., NE.
Amanda was a sugar diabetic, who lost her leg because of poor circulation caused by the disease. She lost the 2nd one shortly before her death. An autopsy showed that she had cancer, in addition to sugar diabetes.
She was buried in the Evergreen Home Cem, at Beatrice, NE. She was 75 Years, 7 mo., 25 days old when she died. (Ziegenhain Gene. says she was born in 1868.) It should be 1867, if her death record is correct. Her informant was
