Hi LarryMy interest in that line stems from a marriage between Jonas Milton Penrod, son of Joseph Penrod and Susannah Miller, and Ida Mae Runk, his second wife. The connection is through Ida, as her first and third husband (they were the same person)was my husband's g-grandfather. My husband descends from his second marriage, although there was issue while Ida and his g-grandfather were married, but I don't know what happened to her. Ida also had a couple of children with Jonas... confused yet? Here's the rundown... Ida and Albert 'Otto' (my husband's g-grandfather) married in 1791, then had a daughter. Shortly after the daughter was born, they either divorced or separated or something, but they were no longer together. Ida remarried, to Jonas Penrod, and Otto remarried, to Leotta Post. Leotta and Otto had 5 children together before she passed away. Ida and Jonas had at least two children during their marriage. After Jonas passed away, Otto and Ida re-married. The children from Otto's second marriage were placed in an orphanage at a young age, so they never really talked much about family. It wasn't until I came along and started looking around that I found all of this out. Anyhow, that's my connection to the Penrod family. I know that some of them ended up in California... mainly because I know that my husband's g-uncle was in California, and I began to wonder if they knew of each other.Best of luck on your research, and thank you for saying hello!Heather LoganFranklin County, IN
