Leland is the person that had helped me put the HIATT family information together more then anyone else. She was very excited to assist, we went to reunions, met with elderly folks together, she knew so many people and was so organized and talented. She was the utmost gold mine of history of anyone I had ever met. If she could only put what she knew and had available in her mind on paper, all our genealogies of that area would be served tremendously. She had written a book on her RUSE family, put together most of the Fremont Co. Cemetery Book, worked for the court house in Sidney, etc. She truly is one of those rare treasures that we could not do without.
